Privacy Statement
1. Purpose of this statement
This statement tells you how the School of Education, University of Leeds will collect and process your personal data when you access this website.
2. Automated collection of personal information
As with most other web servers, when you access these web pages certain information you provide will automatically be recorded. This will include your IP address, browser type, and information relating to the page you last visited. This information is processed to estimate how much usage of the server is made by different categories of users and in the event of a breach of security may be used to aid detection. Information gathered in this way may be passed to third-party applications, such as Google Analytics, for the sole purpose of analysing website useage.
3. Non-automated collection
Where you are required under this website to provide personal data this data will be used for the following purposes:
- Data entered by members of staff and research students into the Content Management System will used to update the website and to track changes to the site.
- Information entered into the CPSE 'Contact Us' form will be sent by email to CPSE. The information provided will be used only for the purpose for which it was submitted.
- Information entered into any course booking forms will be sent by email to the appropriate course support staff, and may be stored in a database for ease of access. The information provided will be used only to send you information about the courses and to reply to any queries you have.
4. Third-party access
Your personal data that you have provided will not be sent to other third-parties and will remain confidential, accessible only by those who have a legitimate need to know within the University. Data that is collected through the automated collection (see 2 above) may be passed to third parties for the sole purpose of analysing website useage.
5. Cookies
This website uses cookies when users log in. Cookies set by our website can be read by our web server and may contain information you have provided to us for use in connection with the purposes outlined under 2 and 3 above.
The Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights Education shop will install cookies on your computer that will store your name and contact details.
6. Credit card details
Where credit card details have been requested as part of a transaction between you and us, these details will be encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
7. Changes to this statement
This statement and therefore the ways in which your data may be processed can be changed from time to time. Any changes will only be notified via this web page.
